A Facebook group for consumers to discuss the issue claims more than six thousand members. The Samsung Refrigerator Class Action Lawsuit has garnered thousands of complaints, some of them involving spoiled food. In one of these cases, a customer in Indiana has filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and the Indiana Attorney General’s office has received 44 complaints related to the refrigerators since 2009. There are also a large number of lawsuits filed against the company due to the problems with the ice makers. A recent investigation by WRTV Investigates found that there are thousands of consumer complaints against the company. Many Samsung refrigerators have been recalled for the ice makers and have water buildup. There are many reasons why people are filing this lawsuit.
# 2nd July 2020 Euroconsumers sends a cease and desist letter to Apple to end the practice of planned obsolescence of Apple iPhones and compensate each affected consumer €60.Īpple has 15 days to formally respond to the letter, after which Euroconsumers will consider the next legal steps. This dramatic step comes after Euroconsumers attempted to resolve this issue with Apple out-of-court, to no avail. Euroconsumers plans to file additional class action lawsuits in Italy and Portugal over the next several weeks. The lawsuits are filed by Euroconsumers’ associated organisations Test-Achats (Belgium) and OCU (Spain). The lawsuits ask for compensation of on average at least 60 euro for each affected consumer in Belgium and Spain.

Test Achats/Test Aankoop asked the Court to authorize a so-called "opt-out" system whereby all aggrieved consumers could be automatically included in the case. The court will now consider whether Test Achats/Test Aankoop is able to initiate such proceedings and whether class action proceedings are the appropriate way to deal with this claim.
